YOU should consider applying for the new Whitefish Climate Action Plan Committee established on December 5 by the City Council. Please submit a letter of interest by December 23. This is a formal city committee that will submit recommendations to the City Council in 2017. The purpose of the Committee is to evaluate the City’s energy use and propose specific projects, benchmarks and other recommendations to conserve energy in the City. The Committee may also propose actions to enhance community resilience and prepare for the effects of climate change.
The council established positions for 6 citizens plus a city councilor. Openings are for either City residents or non-residents who have technical expertise in energy use, energy conservation, and/or climate change. The Committee shall meet as often as necessary to accomplish its general purpose and shall disband as of the date City Council passes a resolution adopting the Climate Action Plan.

Box 158, Whitefish, MT 59937, or email firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday, December 23, 2016. Please include your Name, Mailing Address, Physical Address, and Phone Number. Interviews will be January 3, 2017 or as needed.
The city committee will work closely with Climate Smart Glacier Country and its working groups as well as the City of Whitefish Sustainability Coordinator, Rachel Sussman.
